This Ol' House (Before and After)

Mr. Smith did what a lot of us think about doing. He bought a house, in a nice community, that needed just a little work. When he walked through the front door he knew the house would be perfect for him. It had a formal living and dining, an eat in kitchen, mini-bar, and even a nice small room off the living - which the previous owners were using as a sitting room with a piano. To top it off, each bedroom had its own bath (what a find!) The only problem Mr. Smith found was that this ol' house was dated. But that didn't stop him. He knew a little elbow grease - and a reputable contractor, could do the trick. You'll note, that not all jobs can be done in a weekend. It takes careful planning, HOA approval, and permits to turn your diamond in the rough into a gold mine.

This is the mini bar (in the living room). Although he liked it in theory, reworking it made it a modern, and appealing alternative. In the photo you can see the sitting room off to the left, which Mr. Smith turned into an office and enclosed with french doors (note doors in after picture below)

This wall and door were removed to create an open space from the kitchen to the living room.

There was also a media room which Mr. Smith spruced up!
